Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Some of her early Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel won her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working alongside well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford has been involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. It will also be available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the production. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over an Century. She starred in two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is an Denver origins native, and now splits his time in Los Angeles.
