She received a lot of praise for her performance. The experience not only boosted her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. When she was 22, she graduated at the Julliard School of New York. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. The greatest success of her career came in the role of The Lady of The Lake in Spamalot's initial Broadway production. Not only did she win the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. The recognition grew even more for her appearance on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Alongside being a popular singer, she also released her own solo album and an extended piece. Also, she is an activist who is active to promote LGBT rights.
